Jefferson Davis, while president of the Confederacy, passed through Rock Hill, SC.

Fact:

After the fall of Richmond, VA in April 1865, the capitol of the Confederate States of America, President Jefferson Davis crossed the Catawba River at the old Nation Ford. He then passed though Rock Hill, SC on his way to Abbeville, SC where his last cabinet meeting took place on May 2, 1865. He would be captured on May 10, 1865 in Georgia.
