Fewell-Caldwell-Carothers Family Papers, 1847-1979 (Accession 254)

The Fewell-Caldwell-Carothers Family Papers consists of family history data, correspondence, speeches, essays, sermons, diaries, photographs, newspaper clippings, legal and financial papers, relating to the Fewell, Caldwell, and Carothers families. These families were related by marriage and had a long history of business and civic service to Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Subjects include the Civil War, World War I, Winthrop College, Winthrop Training School, the Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, Salem College, Winston-Salem, North Carolina,  Rock Hill politics, Rock Hill YMCA, and South Carolina House of Representatives.

Contains genealogical information on Caldwell, Fewell, Carothers, Garrison, Broughton, Barron, Hope, Davidson, and Allison families. Includes papers of Anna Hope Caldwell, Erwin Carothers, Eva M. Fewell, Anne Carothers, and the sermons of Reverend Cyrus K. Caldwell of Tennessee.
