ROCK HILL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECORDS, ca1900- ca1975 (Accession 88)

The Rock Hill Chamber of Commerce Records contain correspondence, brochures, pamphlets, scrapbooks, program notes, newsletters, reports, photographs, and other records relating to the history and activities of the Rock Hill, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, including its sponsorship of the Rock Hill Community Hotel Corporation Project (Andrew Jackson Hotel) (1919-1925 and 1935-1949); its efforts to make Landsford Canal a tourist attraction (1965-1970); its protest of the proposed hydroelectric dam, powerhouse and facilities on the Catawba River in York, Chester, and Lancaster counties (the Ebb Mutual Electrical Company Project: 1964-1970); and its sponsorship of Rock Hill’s Come-See-Me event. There are also issues of the Rock Hill Magazine 1914-1918 and 1975 which describes business and activities in the city.
