Dacus Library now has an electronic subscription to The New York Times that gives the Winthrop community full access to this online newspaper. This means that any current Winthrop faculty, staff or student now has access to all articles on nytimes.com, including archived articles dating back to 1851!
Because the library is paying for this subscription, you have to first set up an account using your Winthrop email address. We have the account setup link and the link to nytimes.com under the Databases tab from the library homepage – just select New York Times Newspaper Online from the A-Z list to see the links and instructions. Your account is good for one year but once it expires you can set up a new account the same way.
Once you’ve created your account you can go directly to www.nytimes.com and select the “Log In” button to log into your account. At that point you will have full access to all articles. You can also get to the nytimes.com link from the library’s catalog by selecting the library record labeled with the eNewspaper format or by selecting the link from the A-Z list mentioned above.
Do you read news on your smartphone, tablet or other mobile device? Well download the free NYTimes app and then log in with your account. It’s that easy!
