New Resource: OpenBook Publishers

Dacus Library recently added a new open access resource called OpenBook Publishers (it can be found under the Databases tab on the library’s homepage). It contains books published in hardback, paperback, pdf and ebook editions – the ebooks (we recommend using the pdf version) can be freely downloaded or viewed online. There are some interactive books, as well, that have embedded audio. Topics include social sciences, sciences, and interdisciplinary studies, among others.

Curious about open access publishing? OpenBook Publishers has a good FAQ page that may answer a lot of your questions. In addition, you can read about OpenBook Publisher’s vision.

We hope you’ll explore this new resource and use these ebooks! If you have any questions about OpenBook Publishers please don’t hesitate to contact Gale Teaster or the Reference Desk at 803/323-4501.
