Our Services During Summer Sessions

Welcome summer session students! Dacus Library will be open our normal summer schedule hours beginning on Monday, May 15 through August 9. Check our schedule online or this blog for exceptions to normal hours, such as holidays.

We will still be offering Book A Librarian appointments during summer session. Check the calendar of availability if you want to book a research appointment with a librarian. You can also visit the Information Commons desk if you need reference assistance of any kind.

Textbooks, course reserves, and laptops are available at the Information Commons desk. Most “check out” for three hours, library use only. We have a couple of laptops and some iPads that check out for seven days.

If you need to use our databases or ebooks from off-campus, you’ll need to have a library account password. If you haven’t set one up or don’t remember what your password is, just select the Library Account link on the library’s homepage. Then select the set/reset password link and follow the instructions. If you have any questions, this guide has more detailed instructions. You can also use the Research Guides on our homepage to help you find research resources such as databases, print materials, and more on a subject area.

We have a lot of great resources online, but we also hope to see you in the library this summer. Come utilize our computers, printers, quiet study spaces and print materials! If you have questions, just drop by the Information Commons desk, send us an email or give us a call: 803/323-4501 for reference questions and 803/323-4502 for circulation questions.
